Retiring abroad
Unless you plan to use your assets in your country of residence as security, it is likely you will need to make home financing arrangements with a bank in your destination country. At HSBC we have representatives in many countries and we may be able to help.
Ensure you have a good real estate agent or lawyer who is familiar with the area in which you are interested. Be especially careful of entering contracts, both written and verbal. Other countries often have different loans and practices.
