To help align the interests of employees with those of shareholders, share options are granted under all-employee share plans. Since 2005, discretionary options have not been granted on a widespread basis.
Particulars of options outstanding over HSBC Holdings plc ordinary shares, and of options outstanding over the shares of certain subsidiaries of CCF which were granted prior to its acquisition in 2000, at 31 December 2005 can be obtained by downloading the Share Options Plan pdf.
